Party System Guide

Create parties, track combat, manage loot, and run your campaigns with DM tools.

What is the Party System?

The Party System lets DMs create groups to manage their players' characters during campaigns. As a DM, you get a centralized view of your entire party with tools to run combat, track notes, and manage loot.

DM Dashboard

View all party members' stats, HP, AC, and conditions at a glance.

Combat Tracker

Run encounters with initiative tracking, enemy management, and conditions.

Campaign Tools

Session notes, party loot pool, and shared resources.

Creating a Party

Any user can create a party and become its DM. The DM has full control over the party settings and can manage all members.

Steps to create a party:

  1. 1
    Navigate to Parties

Go to your dashboard and click the "Parties" tab in the navigation.

  2. 2
    Click "Create Party"

Enter a name for your party (e.g., "Curse of Strahd Campaign").

  3. 3
    Add Members

Invite players via email or add characters directly if they've shared them with you.

Managing Party Members

There are two ways to add characters to your party:

Invite Players

Send an email invitation to your players. When they accept, they choose which of their characters to bring to the party.

  • Players manage their own characters
  • They can update during sessions
  • Invites can be set to expire

Add Directly

Add characters that have been shared with you, or add your own characters if you're also a player.

  • Instant addition to party
  • Good for shared characters
  • NPCs you control

Party Member View

Each party member displays key information the DM needs during play:

Combat Tracker

The combat tracker helps you run encounters smoothly with initiative tracking, turn management, and condition tracking for both party members and enemies.

Starting Combat:

  1. 1
    Click "Start Combat"

This opens the combat setup where you can add enemies.

  2. 2
    Add Enemies

Search for monsters or add custom enemies with HP and AC.

  3. 3
    Enter Initiative

Enter initiative rolls for each combatant. The tracker sorts everyone automatically.

  4. 4
    Track Turns

Use Next Turn to advance through the order. Track rounds automatically.

Condition Tracking

Apply conditions to party members or enemies during combat. Click on a combatant and select from all 15 5e conditions:

Enemy Privacy

Enemies show only their display name to players. True names, HP, and conditions are visible only to the DM.

Session Notes

Keep track of your campaign with session notes. Document key events, NPC interactions, plot developments, and memorable moments.

Each session note includes:

  • Session Number - Auto-incremented or set manually
  • Session Date - When the session occurred
  • Title - A descriptive title for easy reference
  • Content - Full notes, as detailed as you want

Notes are displayed in a timeline format, making it easy to review your campaign's history.

Party Loot Pool

Track treasure and items that belong to the party as a whole. When the party finds loot, add it to the pool. Later, distribute items to individual characters.

Adding Loot

Add items with name, quantity, and value. Mark items as magic items or consumables for easy filtering.

Distributing Loot

Assign items to specific party members. Distributed items are marked but remain visible in the history.

DM Only Feature

Party loot management is only visible to the DM. Players see their individual equipment on their character sheets.
